Fran & Jon's Terrificly Unique Tahitian Ukulele

We first started off by introducing ourselves and getting to know what the other's likes and hobbies were! I found out that he once did a portrait of George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, that his favourite animal was a turtle and that we both preferred mustard over ketchup! From our convo we devised some Grade A sketches of possible concepts we could design and it wasn't too long before we settled on the Tahitian Turtle Ukulele idea because it was a mash up between two things that we very much enjoy: Jon likes turtles and I like playing my ukulele. We chose to do a Tahitian Uke because it works much better to design in respect of the CNC machine's ability.

Here are our sketches. You can see a couple of ideas that we filtered through like a spaceship, a sandwich, and a hand.

We were able to stick it through and finish the rhino design in one sitting! We took turns doing certain parts. The trickiest part to do was filleting all the edges because not all of them were straight. But we found that it is possible if you fillet certain edges in a certain order. That was basically the most time consuming part.
Here is the design split in two. They both fit inside of a 4x6x1 in box so everything works out!
